Many a Gem Ltd
...has been around since the late 90s. It's my company. My name's John Kerr. In case you're wondering about the name, let me say straight away, it's nothing to do with jewellery, tho' in the right hands perhaps it could be. There are plenty of other gems - in the literary world, for example, and the name did come from a famous poem:-
Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, by Thomas Gray:-
"Full many a gem, of purest ray serene
the dark unfathom'd caves of ocean bear.
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen
and waste its sweetness on the desert air."
The website badly needed a revamp. There was a portrait of me from around 20 years ago. I've changed. This one's more recent.
The reason for neglect was that my wife and I were running a successful niche site selling back issues of partworks. It was hard work but enjoyable. We worked well as a team and had many satisfied customers. Sadly, Jo passed away in September 2013. I couldn't run that business alone, so I sold it off at the beginning of 2014 to a family in Newark. They're a decent bunch, you'll find them at www.partworks.co.uk. I wish them every success.
I'm 72. It's time to take things a bit steadier. I'm handy with a keyboard, so that's what I'll be doing from here on in: tapping away and generally making a nuisance of myself as an honest broker. The company owns an impressive portfolio of domain names which I'm now keen to either sell on or develop. They're all listed on the next page but a better way of browsing them is through my latest website: www.gemdomains.com, alias www.gem.domains.
